Belleville Police have charged a city teen with stunt driving after a vehicle was clocked going more than twice the speed limit.

On December 9th at 8:47am, Belleville Police were conducting speed enforcement in the city’s east end when they stopped a vehicle that was travelling 138 km/h in a 60 km/h zone.

Officers spoke with the male driver and, during the investigation, seized cannabis from his pocket as well as brass knuckles. As a result, a 17-year-old Belleville male was arrested and charged with:

· Unauthorized possession of a weapon

· Stunt driving under the HTA

· Possess more than one license under the HTA

· Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available under the CCA

He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in February.

No name was released.
