Brighton ended summer with about as busy of a month of August as last year when it came to building permits.
In the municipality’s latest building report issued Wednesday, seven permits were given out at a construction value of $3.7 million.
The same number of permits were issued in August 2025, but at a slightly lower value of $3.3 million.
The largest permit last month was $2.5 million for industrial condos on 86 Sharp Rd.
There’s still lots of room to catch up to the total through the first eight months of last year, with 108 permits given out to this point in 2025 as opposed to 98 this year, and a value of $108.4 million from last year trouncing this year’s total of $48.4 million.
