Northumberland OPP is searching for a pickup truck reported stolen following a collision on the weekend.
Sunday around 8:15 p.m., officers responded to a single-vehicle collision involving a pick-up truck on Concession Rd. 13 East in Trent Hills.
The caller reported that two occupants fled the scene on foot following the collision.
The vehicle struck a hydro pole, causing wires to come down.
A second unrelated vehicle subsequently became involved after colliding with the downed wires. The local fire department attended to assist at the scene.
Members of the OPP Emergency Response Team and OPP Canine Unit (K9) assisted with a search of the area and a Scenes of Crime Officer also attended to assist with the investigation.
The investigation determined that the pick-up truck had been reported stolen from Durham Region in 2021 and was displaying licence plates registered to a different vehicle at the time of the collision.
The search concluded at approximately 10:30 p.m. and no suspects were located. OPP officials say no injuries were reported.
The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
No photo of the truck was made available by police.
