Conditions are calling for heavy rain and thunderstorms Wednesday.
Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch (Orange), which could see damaging wind gusts of up to 110 km/h, large quarter to ping pong ball-size hail and heavy rain.
Torrential downpours with local rainfall amounts up to 50 millimetres are projected Wednesday afternoon into the evening, with a risk of a tornado ahead of an advancing cold front.
The national weather agency says there still remains some uncertainty with how strong thunderstorms could become due to some lingering cloud cover across the region which could inhibit how much instability builds in.
Utility outages, however, are possible, as well as significant damage to property, buildings and trees. There is a risk of serious injury.
Residents are asked to be prepared for severe weather. If threatening weather approaches, take cover in a basement or interior room.
