He also serves as Chair of the City’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee, bringing a focus on ensuring Belleville is a welcoming community where all residents have the opportunity to participate, such as the recent Belleville Caribbean Festival that he chaired for the past five years.

Kelly has also recently been elected to the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) Small Urban Caucus, giving Belleville a stronger voice in provincial municipal discussions and providing an opportunity to advocate for the priorities of small and mid-sized urban communities across Ontario. “I’m proud of the work we have accomplished, but there is still much more to do,” said Kelly. “I’m seeking re-election because I believe Belleville has tremendous potential. I want to continue working with residents, businesses, community organizations and my fellow councillors to strengthen our economy, improve our community and make sure Belleville continues moving forward.” “Belleville deserves strong representation — locally and regionally. I will continue to be a strong advocate for our community and ensure Belleville’s priorities are heard,” said Kelly. Kelly added that the next term should focus on responsible growth, economic development and community services, and making Belleville an even better place to live, work, raise a family and invest.
The deadline for people to file their papers for the election on October 26th is Friday (today) at 2 pm.
