Two people from Campbellford have been charged in connection to a drug trafficking investigation.
Officers from the Peterborough Northumberland Street Crime Unit arrested the two people today in Campbellford, with help from the canine unit.
Officers found a quantity of suspected cocaine and Canadian currency. Police claim that one of the suspects had a prohibited device. A third person connected to the case, who has not been identified, was also taken into custody. Police were also able to seize 25 grams of suspects cocaine, over $340 in Canadian currency, and drug trafficking paraphernalia.
Danielle Girard and Ronald Trafford are facing charges. Both are charged with possessing a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking. In addition, Girard is charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. While Trafford is charged with possession of a prohibited device or ammunition.
Both are scheduled to appear in court later this year.
