Another incumbent has joined a growing list of candidates running in Quinte West for Council this fall, though the Mayor’s race is once again down to two people.
Egerton Boyce filed his papers on Wednesday, becoming the 8th candidate to file for the four seats in Sidney Ward (Ward 2) in Quinte West.
He says Council must develop and strengthen partnerships, encourage investment from other levels of government and continue to develop trails and parklands to promote and encourage a healthy community.
In total as of Thursday at noon, there are eight candidates running for the five seats in Trenton/Ward One (Mike Cowan, Paul Bartz, Robert Wharram, Spencer Hutchison, Leslie Roseblade, Trevor McMillan, Gilles Bourke and Brent Parsons).
There are eight people on the ballot running for the four seats in Sidney Ward/Ward Two (Don Kuntze, Allan DeWitt, Kandis Hambly, Keith Poulin, Kate Widdifield, John Desloges, David Jesse and Egerton Boyce).
Five people have registered to run for the two seats in Murray Ward/Ward Three (Ed Santos, Brian Crews, Doug Herrington, Jordan Hoyland and David Lovely).
Two people have signed up to run for the single seat in Frankford/Ward Four (Matt Joice and JD Brown).
The race to replace Jim Harrison as Mayor is once again a two-person contest between current Councillors Zack Card and Shelley Steadall.
The Quinte West votes page says a third candidate, Dennis Flintoff, has withdrawn.
Candidates have until Friday at 2 pm to file their papers to run this fall.
