Belleville Police have arrested a man in a sexual assault case following an investigation that lasted more than two weeks.
On August 5, 2026, an adult female reported to the Belleville Police Service that she had been sexually assaulted and assaulted with a weapon by her former spouse.
Members of the Belleville Police Service Criminal Investigation Division conducted an investigation into the allegations. As a result of the investigation, a 66-year-old Belleville man was arrested on Thursday and charged with:
· Sexual Assault
· Assault with a Weapon
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing. No name was released.
