Napanee has been the headlines a fair bit this week with ongoing projects.
First, we learned that the roof has been fixed at the Old Town Hall, then plans continue to roll along that will transform the old CN rail line into an active transportation network.
The latest note is about the Best & Bash Arena. Napanee has announced that they have installed accessible push button doors throughout the large arena. A $42,000 grant from the Ontario Trillium Fund, helped make the project possible.
“Strong communities are built around places where everyone can take part. Making our local Best & Bash arena more accessible is a practical investment that helps ensure children, seniors, people with disabilities and families can enter and enjoy this important community space with greater independence and dignity,” Accessibility and good design should not be afterthoughts. When we build and improve public spaces with everyone in mind, we create facilities that work better for the whole community. I’m so pleased to see the Ontario government, through the Ministry of Tourism, Gaming and Multiculturalism’s Ontario Trillium Foundation, make this investment helping make that vision a reality right here at home,” said Ric Bresee, MPP for Hastings—Lennox and Addington, in a provided statement.
