The nomination period has closed this afternoon, for those wishing to run to be a councillor, mayor and school board trustee.
According to the Quinte West Votes website, there has been a pivot in the mayor’s race. Dennis Flintoff has withdrawn this week, while David Thomson has submitted his papers today. Thomson is running against current Councillors Zach Card and Shelley Stedall.
On the Council side, Tim Durkin has filed his nomination papers today. He is seeking a spot on Council, running in the Murray Ward.
The City Clerk’s office will certify the nominations and post the official candidate list Monday afternoon.
Ontario will head to the polls in the municipal election on October 26th.
