Members of the OPP have charged an individual in connection with a stolen vehicle investigation in Trent Hills and are seeking a second person that is believed to be involved.
Back on August 30, at approximately 8:15 p.m., officers responded to a single-vehicle collision involving a pick-up truck on Concession Road 13 East in Trent Hills.
The caller reported that two occupants fled the scene on foot following the collision.
The investigation determined that the pick-up truck had been reported stolen from Durham Region in 2021 and was displaying licence plates registered to a different vehicle at the time of the collision.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, members of the Peterborough/Northumberland Community Street Crime Unit took one person into custody this past Tuesday.
Kyla Civitarese, 39 of Havelock, has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
The accused is due to appear in court in December 2026.
The investigation remains ongoing. Police are seeking assistance in identifying a second individual believed to be connected to this incident and anyone with information is asked to contact them or CrimeStoppers.
