Belleville Police has laid weapons charges against a local man after an incident earlier this week.
Officers received a report from a resident that a male who was known to them pointed a firearm at them and made threats during an interaction on Tuesday.
As a result of the investigation, Belleville Police, with the assistance of the Emergency Response Unit, executed a search warrant on Wednesday evening.
A 38-year-old Belleville man, whose name was not released, was eventually located, arrested and charged with three counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, uttering threats and pointing a firearm
He was held for a bail hearing.
