Car fire in garage on Haig Road in Belleville

A quick response by Belleville Firefighters helped limit the damage after a car burst into flames inside a garage on the east end of the city on Friday night.

The call came in about a car on fire in an attached garage of a townhouse complex in the 100 block of Haig Road around 6 pm.

Rapid response kept the fire contained to the vehicle but there was smoke damage throughout the home.

There were no injuries reported.

Haig Road was closed by Belleville Police at Janlyn Cres.

An investigator will attend to determine a cause.

The vehicle was completely destroyed.
