By Brock Ormond Feb 12, 2026 | 2:33 PM

The City of Quinte West and Local 799.1 of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), the union representing the City’s 32 crossing guards, have reached a three-year collective agreement after completing the collective bargaining process.

This follows the ratification by CUPE 799.1 members on Saturday, Feb. 7.

Details of the three-year agreement include an average wage increase of 2.8-per cent and an increase to the annual clothing allowance.

The City recognizes and appreciates the collective work of the union and employer bargaining teams through this process.
