Multi-tractor trailer pileup on west 401

UPDATE: The westbound highway is moving a little faster again after a pileup involving multiple tractor trailers near Colborne.

Traffic was substantially backed up, but no closure was required.

No word on injuries as of yet.

ORIGINAL STORY

The snowy weather’s return is causing some calamity on the westbound 401.

A caller to our newsroom noted a multi-vehicle crash had occurred late Tuesday morning at the 490-highway mile marker between Trenton and Colborne.

Traffic is backed up due to what is being described as a ‘multi-tractor trailer pileup.’

Police, fire and paramedics are on scene.

Updates will be provided Tuesday afternoon when available.
