Inmate death at Bath Institution

The Correctional Service of Canada is investigating the death of an inmate at Bath Institution.

David Thomas, an inmate from Bath Institution, died while in custody this past Saturday, Feb. 7.

At the time of death, the inmate was 63 years old and had been serving a life sentence since July 15, 2015.

The inmate’s next of kin have been notified.

As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the CSC will review the circumstances.

CSC policy requires that the police and the coroner be notified.
