By Brock Ormond Sep 11, 2025 | 10:06 AM

Members of the Bancroft OPP have arrested one person and charged them after reportedly resisting arrest when being approached by police on an outstanding warrant.

A wanted person was recognized in Bancroft this past Saturday morning and when approached by police, reportedly resisted arrest and caused minor injuries to an officer.

Once transported to the Bancroft OPP detachment the accused reportedly threatened police officers while being lodged into the police cells.

Daniel Sarginson, 40, of Bancroft faces two charges for resisting a peace officer, three counts of uttering threats and one charge of failing to comply with probation.

He was slated for a bail hearing in Belleville on Thursday.
