A substantial Land Ambulance Service Grant is coming to Hastings County.
The $12.2 million grant was received and approved at County Council’s meeting on Thursday.
Funds are provided yearly as a grant, based on financial information provided each March to the ministry.
Last month, Hastings-Quinte Paramedic Chief Carl Bowker stated the Minister of Health announced the approved LASG funding for the County.
This allocation is more than $12,000 higher than the amount included in the 2026 budget and Bowker stated it will help offset unforeseen operating expenses incurred during the year.
Overall, the 2026 funding announcement represents an increase of $898,852, or approximately eight-per cent, compared to the previous year’s allocation, reflecting continued provincial investment in land ambulance services.
