An incident involving a reported attack involving a weapon resulted in charges for a Belleville woman Tuesday.
Around 9:15 a.m., Belleville Police responded to a residence in the city’s east end regarding a dispute where a male and a female were involved in an altercation the previous evening.
During the investigation, it was reported that the female assaulted the male by punching him and during the incident, also stabbed him.
The male attended hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old Belleville woman was arrested and charged with aggravated spousal assault and assault with a weapon.
She was held for a bail hearing.
