Quinte Conservation and the Low Water Response Team have declared that the local watershed has returned to normal water conditions.
QC officials say precipitation and stream flow conditions have greatly improved over the last three months.
Overall conditions have stabilized due to a return of seasonally normal rain and snowfall amounts experienced throughout the watershed.
Groundwater recharge has improved with the milder temperatures allowing for infiltration of the recent snowmelt and rains. Reports from residents about dry or depleted wells have not occurred in the last few weeks.
Residents relying on well water should still consider reducing usage amounts to allow for greater localized groundwater recharge.
Current forecasts indicate that the month of January is on track to receive sufficient precipitation to continue this recovery.
