Highway 401 drug bust in Quinte West

Four people have been arrested during a traffic stop on Highway 401 on Sunday morning

Around 9 a.m., Quinte West OPP stopped a vehicle between Highway 33 and Glen Miller Road in Quinte West and seized over a kilogram of suspected cocaine, an amount of suspected cannabis and Percocet with an estimated street value of approximately $114,000.

Police also seized over $7,500 in Canadian currency with the help of the OPP Community Street Crime Unit, the Quinte West OPP Crime Unit and the OPP Canine Unit.

Four people have been arrested and charged.

Justin Corona, 23, of Nepean has been charged with the following:

  • Obstruct peace officer
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
  • Operation while impaired – drugs
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Flight from peace officer
  • Possession of 30g dried cannabis in a public place
  • Drive with window coated – obstructed view
  • Drive motor vehicle with cannabis readily available

Lee Bautista, 24, and Fercival Garcia, 27, of Gloucester have both been charged with the following:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Obstruct peace officer

Hassan Abdullah, 32, Gloucester has been charged with the following:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

The accused remain in custody pending a bail hearing in Belleville court.
