Arrest on warrants, drugs in Greater Napanee

An individual, wanted on multiple arrest warrants, has been taken into custody in Greater Napanee following a drug seizure.

Officers with the OPP East Region Community Street Crime Unit and Lennox and Addington Detachment located the individual in the area of Mill Street East just after 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday

The person was taken into custody without incident.

During the arrest officers located suspected fentanyl and suspected methamphetamine, as well as items associated with drug trafficking.

Kaesi Renaud, 40, of no fixed address, has been charged with two counts of possession of Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking

The outstanding arrest warrants included charges for robbery and theft, as well as for failing to appear in court and failing to comply with release orders.

The accused was remanded in custody following a bail hearing Wednesday afternoon on today’s charges as well as the outstanding charges.

The bail hearing is scheduled to resume on Thursday.
