Conditions were beginning to improve in Quinte on Saturday afternoon as the late-season snowstorm finally ended.

There was heavy snowfall on Friday night, with 14 cm falling before midnight (according to readings taken at CFB Trenton) and 17.5 cm falling over the course of Saturday morning for a total of 31.5 cm.

Plows were out early but driving conditions remained poor in many areas, especially on secondary roads.

The Winter Storm Warning from Environment Canada was lifted around noon on Saturday.
