Even a few downpours toward the end of last month couldn’t stop overall drought-like conditions from continuing in Quinte.
Weather readings taken from CFB Trenton showed the area received a little more than 50 millimetres of rain in August, well under the historical average for the month at 72.
That was still well above the only 25 millimetres of precipitation the region got in July.
Last year, the Quinte got a dumping of 78.2 millimetres in August.
An average temperature high of 26.1 degrees and low of 14 degrees were about expected for this time of year.
