Former Mayor of Belleville Mitch Panciuk is taking the top job with a provincial agency that promotes safe digging.
The details were released by Ontario One Call on Monday. Established in 1996, Ontario One Call is a public safety administrative authority that acts as a communications link between buried infrastructure owners and individuals who are planning to dig in the province of Ontario. Ontario One Call spreads dig safe and click before you dig messaging, provides a locate request system that streamlines communications between those who want to dig with the owners of buried infrastructure, and regulates the public locate industry.
RELEASE – Following a comprehensive search process conducted in partnership with an executive recruitment firm, the Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Mr. Mitch Panciuk is the new President and CEO of Ontario One Call succeeding Mr. Jim Keech, who has led the organization with dedication over the past three years.
Mr. Panciuk brings a wealth of leadership experience and a strong commitment to public service. He has served as both City Councillor and Mayor of Belleville, where he championed key initiatives in housing, infrastructure, and healthcare recruitment. In addition to his public service, Mitch is a seasoned entrepreneur and currently serves as a Corporate Director with Hydro One.
His extensive governance experience includes serving on multiple boards, notably as previous Chair of Ontario One Call’s Board of Directors. He has also held leadership roles with the Elexicon Board of Directors, the Belleville Chamber of Commerce and the Quinte Economic Development Board, reflecting his deep engagement in community development.
