Assault charges laid against Belleville man

A man faces charges after an incident involving damage to a vehicle and a reported assault.

After 1:30 on Thursday afternoon, Belleville Police stated a woman had come into the police station with a report of a man attending her residence and damaging her vehicle by reversing his vehicle into it.

During the incident, the male also reportedly yelled at and physically assaulted her.

Following police investigation, a 36-year-old Belleville man was charged with assault, assault with a weapon, uttering threats and mischief over $5,000.

He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in October.
