Building supply company founder dies at 94

The founder and namesake of a building supply company with a location in Belleville is being remembered.

Alfred ‘Alf’ Curtis died at the age of 94 in Peterborough last Thursday, September 4.

Curtis was the man behind Alf Curtis Home Improvements Inc., which serves Belleville as a subsidiary of Castle Building Centres Ltd. on Old Highway 2, and has other locations in Peterborough and Lindsay.

Curtis leaves behind his wife of 73 years June, along with two children, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
