MP Malette comments on Highline Mushrooms closure in Wellington

Bay of Quinte MP Chris Malette is offering his thoughts on the closure of a major economic facility in Prince Edward County.

In a statement Friday, Malette said he is devastated about the decision for Highline Mushrooms to close its Wellington facility at the end of the year.

He echoed Mayor Steve Ferguson’s sentiments from Thursday in saying the loss of some 300 jobs at the plant will have a ripple effect on workers and their families and

Malette encourages employees and local businesses to reach out to his constituency office for support.
