The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is once again supporting the Municipality of Trent Hills Fire Department to help make the holiday season brighter for local families through the annual Toy Drive.
Community members are encouraged to donate new, unwrapped toys and non-perishable food items to help support children, individuals, and families throughout Northumberland County during the holiday season.
Donations can be dropped off at any Northumberland OPP detachment Monday to Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. until Friday, December 11, 2026, at the following locations:
· Cobourg OPP Detachment, 1165 Division Street, Cobourg
· Brighton OPP Detachment, 95 Dundas Street, Brighton
· Campbellford OPP Detachment, 20 Industrial Drive, Campbellford
In addition to the detachment collection locations, the Trent Hills Fire Department will be hosting donation collection events at Canadian Tire and Giant Tiger in Campbellford on Saturday, November 28, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Northumberland OPP members hope to join firefighters in supporting this community initiative.
The annual toy drive distribution evening will take place on Tuesday, December 15, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. in Campbellford.
The Northumberland OPP and Trent Hills Fire Department thank residents for their continued generosity and support of this long-standing community initiative. Together, we can help ensure local children and families enjoy a brighter holiday season.
All donations collected will be distributed through local agencies supporting families and individuals in Northumberland County who may be experiencing hardship or difficult circumstances this holiday season.
“One of the greatest strengths of Northumberland County is the willingness of residents to support one another. Whether it’s a toy for a child or food for a family facing challenges, every donation can make a meaningful difference during the holiday season. We are proud to once again to support the Trent Hills Fire Department and thank everyone who helps make this annual initiative a success,” said Constable James Clarke, Media and Community Engagement Officer of Northumberland OPP.
“The continued generosity of our community helps ensure local families receive support when they need it most. Donations of toys and food can have a tremendous impact, bringing comfort, joy and hope during the holiday season. We are grateful to our partners at the Northumberland OPP and to everyone who contributes to this important initiative,” said Fire Chief Shawn Jamieson, Municipality of Trent Hills Fire Department.
