An impaired charge has been laid against a Shannonville resident after a reported collision with a fence at a Tyendinaga school last weekend.
Sunday, around 3:30 p.m. members of the Tyendinaga Police Service responded to a single vehicle collision on York Road after a Ford pickup truck struck and drove through a fence at Quinte Mohawk School.
47-year-old Michael Bourette of Shannonville was arrested and charged with impaired operation, driving with a blood alcohol conceration level over 80 mg and driving while under suspension.
Bourette has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Belleville Court October 21.
The Tyendinaga Police are asking community members to dial 911 and report all impaired drivers in order to help keep the area’s roadways and community safe.
