Members of the Northumberland OPP have laid charges in connection with a recent break and enter investigation in the Township of Hamilton from this past weekend.
Saturday around 5:30 p.m., officers received a report of a break and enter at an unoccupied residence associated with the complainant’s family on County Road 45.
Police attended the property and, while no individuals were located at the scene, investigators determined the residence had recently been occupied without permission.
A local OPP Scenes of Crime Officer attended to assist with the investigation, which eventually led to the arrest of a person in Cobourg.
Cecil Parsons, 61, of no fixed address, has been charged with:
– Break, enter dwelling house – commit indictable offence
– Unlawfully in dwelling house
– Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
– Mischief under $5,000
The accused is due to appear before the Cobourg Court in November.
