It may be early fall, but an unseasonal blast of early winter-like conditions is causing some concerns for gardeners and farmers alike.
Environment Canada has issued a Frost Advisory for the Region. Northern parts of Quinte hit minus 3 in the early morning hours, while other areas could approach zero before daybreak.
FROST ADVISORY FROM EC – Temperatures are expected to fall to near or just below the freezing mark early this morning. Damage to plants, trees, and crops is possible. Take preventative measures to protect cold-sensitive plants, trees, and crops. Cover up plants, especially those in frost-prone areas. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ONstorm@ec.gc.ca or post reports on social media using #ONStorm.
