One of my favourite events of the fall takes centre stage today by building connections between local employers and prospective workers right here in Belleville.
The Belleville and Quinte west Chambers of Commerce are jointly hosting the Work in Quinte Career Fair at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre from 1 to 6 pm.
I have done remotes at this event in the past and have marveled at the number of companies and organizations present and the vast array of opportunities just waiting for people to walk through the door and into a better tomorrow.
It seems like everybody is there when it comes to local employers. You can find reps from the School Boards, The Trenton MFRC, Community Living Hastings Prince Edward, and Pathways to Independence, as well as private sector companies large and small including P & G and Redpath Sugar.
The Quinte Region is an amazing place to live, work and play, but so many people are still unemployed or underemployed and looking for the next step to build a better future.
That journey can start for you or someone you know who needs a push in a new direction today.
In the past, there has at least once been more jobs being offered on site than people who came through the door.
So if you want a fresh start, grab that resume and head to the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre. The future starts today.
I’m Paul Martin and that’s what I see looking Beyond the Headlines.
