City of Belleville officials are encouraging residents and visitors to be more mindful of public spaces after vandalism was recently reported.
A post on social media from the city expressed disappointment that the giant 14-foot-tall sunflowers at the R.T. Potter Park watering can display were recently vandalized.
City officials say Belleville’s floral crew works very hard to plant, maintain and care for all the gardens and floral displays across the city and vandalism like this not only damages public spaces, but also undoes months of their hard work.
“Please help us take care of our parks for everyone to enjoy and join us in thanking our floral crew for all they do to make Belleville beautiful,” officials stated.
