Expect a soggy Wednesday in the Quinte region.
Environment Canada issued a Special Weather Statement late Wednesday morning, saying locally heavy rain is expected in the range of 50 mm through the day and into this evening.
The national weather agency says a moisture laden and slow-moving low-pressure system will bring locally heavy rain showers and the risk for isolated thunderstorms.
The high moisture associated with this low will lead to the potential for locally heavy rainfall.
Water will likely pool on roads and in low-lying areas and motorists are asked to avoid driving through flooded roadways and avoid low-lying areas.
