The City of Belleville’s Community Services Department invites residents to join in the celebration of Recreation and Parks Month in June.
It’s is a province-wide movement led by Parks and Recreation Ontario and the Canadian Parks and Recreation Association that highlights the many benefits of recreation and parks for physical, social and mental wellbeing.
June is also recognized across Ontario as Seniors Month, promoted by the Ministry for Seniors and Accessibility.
To celebrate JRPM and Seniors Month, the Community Services Department encourages residents of all ages to stay active, connected and engaged through a variety of free programming opportunities offered throughout the month at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre, as well as outdoors in the community.
“June is a fantastic opportunity for our community to come together, try something new, and reconnect through recreation,” said Kari Lambe, Director of Community Services. “We’re especially proud to offer free, accessible programming for all ages, including activities tailored for our seniors.”
In addition to June programming, the Community Services Department is excited to host the 3rd annual Activities in Park event at West Zwick’s Park on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, from 4 to 7 p.m.
Bring the whole family out for a fun-filled time in one of Belleville’s beautiful parks as the community comes together to celebrate recreation, wellness and connection.
