Downtown Belleville’s signature summer celebration is back as Downtown at Dusk returns on Friday, June 19 from 4pm to 10pm in the heart of Downtown Belleville.
Held on the summer solstice, this beloved annual event celebrates the arrival of summer by transforming Front Street into a vibrant pedestrian festival filled with entertainment, music, shopping, food, and community fun. Front Street will be closed to traffic from Victoria Avenue to Bridge Street East for the evening festivities, with the road closure beginning at 11 a.m. and event activities starting at 4 p.m.
To kick off the celebration, Oxygen Yoga & Fitness Belleville will host a free outdoor yoga class within the street closure at 4:15pm, inviting attendees to welcome the summer season with movement and mindfulness in the heart of downtown.
Visitors can enjoy an exciting lineup of live music throughout the evening featuring performances by The Impish Grins, Cue The Funk, and The Remedy. As well as interactive street performances presented by McDougall Insurance, artisan vendors, local shopping, and a variety of food trucks and downtown eateries serving up summer favourites.
The annual Mode Elle Fashion Show will once again showcase the latest seasonal styles from local retailers at 7pm, always a crowd favourite. As the sun sets, the celebration continues with free salsa dancing lessons led by Jen Pacheco, inviting festival-goers to dance the night away in the middle of Front Street.
“Downtown at Dusk is one of Belleville’s most anticipated summer events,” says Danielle Hanoman, Executive Director of the Downtown Belleville BIA. “It’s a celebration of our downtown businesses, local talent, and community spirit, and we’re excited to welcome residents and visitors for an unforgettable evening in Downtown Belleville.”
With thousands expected to attend, Downtown at Dusk promises an energetic atmosphere and something for all ages to enjoy while celebrating the official start of summer in Downtown Belleville.
