Kingston Police are issuing an advisory as the Limestone City grapples with power problems on Saturday morning.
They issued the following statement at 8:21 am.
STATEMENT –
Kingston Police are aware of the widespread power outage currently affecting our city and surrounding areas. We recognize the significant impact this outage is having on residents and businesses, and emergency services continue to monitor the situation closely.
Residents are reminded not to call 911 for updates or information regarding the power outage. The 911 system must remain available for emergencies requiring immediate police, fire, or medical assistance.
Due to the outage, a large number of traffic lights throughout the city are currently not functioning. Drivers are reminded that intersections with non-functioning traffic signals must be treated as four-way stops under Ontario traffic laws.
