An active local nature group is holding a fundraising event for people with green thumbs on Saturday in Belleville.

The Annual Quinte Field Naturalist fundraising plant sale is this Saturday May 16 from 8 to noon, at St. Joseph’s church parking lot corner of Victoria and Herchimer.

Every dollar raised goes to planting native trees, shrubs and flowers at local parks.

This year, they are planting at Clarence Bird Park , Alemite Park and Tracey Park Drive.
