A relatively cool week in Quinte will get much warmer in time for the long weekend and could turn into a two-day heat wave early next week.
Daytime highs are expected to meet or exceed the average for this time of year (19 degrees) on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Environment Canada is projecting a high of 19 degrees for Friday, 20 degrees for Saturday and 21 for Sunday.
Then, it will feel more like mid-July than mid-May, with highs of 27 for Victoria Day Monday and 28 with a good chance of rain for Tuesday.
Thursday’s projected high is much cooler than average for this time of year at 12 degrees Celcius.
