The weather has not been perfect, but several Quinte Legion Lynx Track and Field athletes have still turned in recent record-breaking top 10 provincial performances in the outdoor track season.
At the Kingston- Limestone Legacy meet, St Theresa Catholic Secondary School Junior Charlee Sage placed 1st in pole vault with a jump of 3.10m to establish a new meet record.
Sage then took two golds at the 48th Hungerford-Burabrea Farms T&F Classic in Brockville when she placed 1st 60m hurdles 12.82 seconds and broke the pole vault meet record of 3.20m
Hudson Brown was also 1st in the Junior boys’ event in Kingston and placed second in Brockville.
Bayside Secondary Senior Isla Bibby skied 3.55m to break meet records while winning gold at both events and now ranks 2nd in the province.
Bayside Red Devil Josh Thomas won gold in senior boys’ high jump and Kem Kemka, also from Bayside won gold in shot put with a throw of 15.63m in Brockville.
Griffin Coffey of Centennial Secondary School clinched silver in senior boys pole vault.
Athletes will compete Friday at the Bay of Quinte invitational meet and next Wednesday at the Bay of Quinte high school championships.
Both meets are at Bruce Falls Track at Mary Anne Sills Park.
