Child pornography charges laid against man in Northumberland

The Northumberland OPP has charged an individual in a child pornography investigation.

In November 2025, police received a complaint regarding online communications involving child pornography.

Following almost a three-month investigation by the Northumberland Crime Unit, one person was taken into custody on February 12, 2026.

Jonathan Hunter, 31, from Peterborough, has been charged with making, printing, publishing or possessing for the purpose of publication of any child sexual abuse and exploitation material and importing, distributing, selling or possessing for the purpose of distribution or sale of child sexual abuse and exploitation material

The accused was held for bail to appear in Cobourg Court.
