Tickets are selling fast for an inaugural event in downtown Belleville later this month.
United Way Hastings & Prince Edward is preparing to welcome nonprofit leaders, staff, board members and volunteers to its inaugural Impact Exchange Conference, taking place October 28 at The CORE in downtown Belleville.
Officials say with just 20 tickets remaining, the strong response reflects a growing appetite for accessible, high-quality professional development across the region’s charitable and nonprofit sector.
Presented by Memorial Market Place, the conference will bring nationally recognized speakers, sector experts and nonprofit professionals together for a day of learning, collaboration and meaningful conversation about the challenges and opportunities facing local organizations.
The idea for the conference emerged from conversations United Way held with leaders of its funded agencies, who identified access to professional development as a significant challenge. For many smaller and rural organizations, the combined costs of travel, accommodation, registration and time away from work can make attending conferences in larger urban centres difficult.
Beyond the presentations, Impact Exchange is designed to create opportunities for nonprofit professionals to connect, exchange ideas and build relationships that extend beyond the conference itself.
“The nonprofit sector is facing increasingly complex challenges, from workforce pressures and volunteer shortages to growing demands for services,” stated United Way executive director Brandi Hodge.
“We know that strong organizations are essential to strong communities. This conference is about investing in the people behind those organizations, recognizing the important work they do, and giving them practical tools and new perspectives to carry that work forward.”
The Impact Exchange Conference takes place Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at The CORE, 223 Pinnacle Street, Belleville. For conference information, the full program and registration, visit www.unitedwayhpe.ca/conference/.
