RAIDERS 4 HUSKIES 1
The Napanee Raiders got their weekend started off on the right foot with a 4-1 victory at home over the Frankford Huskies Friday night.
The Raiders spotted Frankford the opening goal courtesy of Ty McCambridge on the powerplay before rattling off four unanswered.
Tanner Hawkins bookended the scoring with his first two of the season, and Mason Goodfellow and Brody Nielissen each added one.
Frankford outshot Napanee 36-29, but the play of Jacob Brown and his 35 saves was a big difference-maker.
SATURDAY
RAIDERS 12 PANTHERS 2
The Raiders followed their Friday victory by enjoying a huge blowout win in Port Hope for a perfect weekend.
The night was highlighted by a four goal, five point performance from Goodfellow as the Raiders went up 4-0 after 20 minutes and 9-1 after 40.
Ethan Boutilier scored twice and Brody Nielissen added four assists in the lopsided result.
Milestones were also aplenty with Darien Smith notching his first PJHL goal as part of a four-point evening, and Tyson Carr and Jared Burgess each scoring their first as a Raider.
Every Raider skater except one had at least a point.
HUSKIES 4 CHIEFS 3
The Huskies got a rebound win Saturday, but did it by the narrowest of margins.
Chris Brydges fired home the only goal of the shootout in the third round, carrying Frankford to victory over the Lakefield Chiefs.
McCambridge and Evan Erwin each had a goal and a assist in the victory.
Jake Sage scored as well for Frankford and Charlie Vos made 30 saves, while stopping all three Chiefs shootout attempts.
JETS 3 THUNDER 0
Tyson Wilcox’s 31 save shutout was the driving force behind a 3-0 Amherstview Jets blanking of the Trent Hills Thunder.
Former Wellington Duke Quinn McNamara scored for the Jets.
Ex-Napanee Raider Logan Vale made 30 saves.
SUNDAY
JETS 5 PIRATES 2
The Picton Pirates’ lone game over the weekend ended in a loss in Amherstview.
The Jets broke a 2-2 tie in the third with three unanswered tallies to win 5-2 Sunday night in an affair that turned chippy in the third period.
Isaih More and Jaxson Payne had Picton’s goals, with Alex Lavender, Matt Petrut and captain Gerrit Kempers assisting.
McNamara scored twice and assisted on the game-winner for Amherstview as the hosts outshot Picton 32-27.
Nick Parodo made 27 saves in the losing cause.
CHIEFS 7 THUNDER 3
The Thunder suffered another tough loss Saturday night at home at the hands of a strong Lakefield Chiefs unit.
Trent Hills fell behind 4-1 after 20 minutes and couldn’t get back on the rails.
Isaac Krentz (1), Owen Ellis (4) and Matteo Berardi (1) scored for the Thunder.
Keagen Carr, Justin Mann, Matthew Hinan, Jack Andrews and Carter Rowles added assists.
Blake Melnychuk picked up 39 saves in the loss.
