Lennox and Addington County members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged two people following separate traffic stops over the weekend.
On Friday September 25, 2026, just after 9:00 p.m., L&A County OPP members were conducting a RIDE check in Addington Highlands. Police stopped a vehicle and after registering a “fail” on the Approved Screening Device (ASD), the driver was arrested.
Ashley WOOD, a 38-year-old from Flinton, was charged with:
- Operation while impaired – over 80 mgs of alcohol
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on November 10, 2026. Their driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was impounded.
On Sunday September 27, 2026, just before 5:00 p.m., L&A County OPP members were notified of a hit on the automatic Licence Plate Reader (ALPR). Police stopped the vehicle and, following an investigation, the driver was arrested.
Christian NGWALE, a 30-year-old from Loyalist Township, was charged with:
- Fail to comply with demand
- Operation while prohibited
- Driving while under suspension
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on November 10, 2026. Their driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was impounded.
