Belleville Bulls U12A win Mary Parkinson Memorial Championship following undefeated tournament

The Belleville Bulls U12A team made an early
statement this weekend, going undefeated at the Mary Parkinson Memorial Tournament in
Richmond Hill and returning home as tournament champions.
The 10 team tournament was the Bulls’ first of the 2026-27 season, and the team never lost a
game on its way to the championship.
After finishing the round robin undefeated, Belleville advanced to Sunday’s semifinal, where
they defeated the Oshawa Generals 5-3 to earn a spot in the final.
Waiting for them was a familiar opponent in the Kingston Canadiens, a team the Bulls will face
regularly during the season.
The championship final was a nail biter, with the Bulls battling through a tight 2-1 game to
secure the tournament title and bring the hardware home to Belleville.
For a team with a number of new faces, the weekend was an early test of chemistry and a
chance to establish the identity they want to carry throughout the season.
That identity is simple: team first.
The Bulls saw contributions from throughout the lineup all weekend, with players stepping up for
one another and finding ways to get the job done together.
“It was a huge team effort from start to finish,” said the Bulls coaching staff. “We have a lot of
new faces in this group, and the players came together quickly. The biggest thing we talked
about was putting the team first, and they really bought into that.”
The Bulls finished the tournament with a 5-0-1 record, remaining undefeated through six games.
The championship gives the group an early season milestone to celebrate, but the focus now
shifts back to the regular season and continuing to build on the foundation established in
Richmond Hill.
For the Belleville Bulls U12A, the first tournament of the season could hardly have gone better.
Their home opener is Saturday, October 3rd at 5:30pm against the Ajax Pickering Raiders.
