As summer officially arrives, Downtown Belleville is preparing to welcome thousands of attendees for one of the city’s most anticipated events of the year.
On Friday, June 19, Front Street will transform into a vibrant pedestrian festival as Downtown at Dusk returns from 4pm to 10pm, bringing together live music, artisan market, food trucks, fashion, entertainment, and community celebration in the heart of the city.
Throughout the evening, visitors can enjoy performances by The Impish Grins, Cue The Funk, and The Remedy, browse the artisan vendor market, shop at local retailers, enjoy food from downtown restaurants and food trucks, and take in street performances presented by McDougall Insurance.
“We often hear people say they had no idea how much there is to discover downtown until they attend Downtown at Dusk,” says Danielle Hanoman, Executive Director of the Downtown Belleville BIA. “This event gives people the opportunity to explore local businesses, connect with friends, enjoy incredible entertainment, and experience the energy of our downtown in a completely different way.”
Highlights also include the annual Mode Elle Fashion Show starting at 7pm, showcasing summer styles from downtown retailers, and free salsa dancing lessons that invite everyone to join the celebration as the sun sets over Front Street. The event begins with a free outdoor yoga class hosted by Oxygen Yoga & Fitness Belleville, offering a unique opportunity to welcome the summer solstice in the middle of downtown. For many attendees, however, the biggest draw is simply the atmosphere.
“There is something magical about seeing thousands of people filling the streets, listening to music, supporting local businesses, and celebrating together,” says Hanoman. “Downtown at Dusk captures the spirit of summer in Belleville and reminds us how important community connection is.”
Admission is free, and attendees are encouraged to arrive early, explore the district, and stay for the entire evening of entertainment.
