May construction numbers in Brighton are slowly but surely growing.
The municipality’s building department released its latest monthly permit report, showing 13 permits were issued last month, up from the 10 reported in May 2025.
Construction value was also up from $1.2 million to $4.3 million.
Overall year-to-date numbers are still lagging though, as 47 building permits have been issued in Brighton, down from 70 by this time in 2025.
A total of 17 of this year’s permits are for new homes, down from 34 by this time last year.
Total construction value is also still way down, at $16.7 million compared to more than $103 million from the first five months of last year.
