Avid gardeners can sprout out in local municipalities for spring seedling giveaways on Saturday.
Belleville’s Market Square (behind City Hall) will host its city’s seeding giveaway at 9 a.m., where attendees receive up to 5 free bare-root seedlings.
Be sure to arrive early as quantities are limited and available while supplies last.

American Elderberry Winterberry Shadblow Serviceberry Fragrant Sumac Black Cherry Balsam Poplar Bur Oak Red Maple Sycamore Tulip Tree Tamarack Silver Maple Red Pine White Spruce American Mountain Ash Pin Oak Pussy Willow White Cedar Paper Birch Sugar MapleIn Quinte West, the Duncan McDonald Memorial Community Gardens on 8 Couch Cres. in Trenton will be the host site of a giveaway from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. (while supplies last).
Don’t forget to bring a bucket or container to take your seedling home safely.
Also in Tweed, an event at the arena runs from 9:00 AM until quantities last.Please bring a bucket/bag to transport your seedlings, and plan to plant as soon as possible.
