OPP charge teen in connection with another teen’s death east of Napanee

 A youth has been charged in relation to the death of another youth east of Napanee

On March 9, 2026, officers from Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a local school in the Bath area for a medical emergency. One youth was transported to hospital and later died.

The ongoing investigation is being led by the OPP L&A County Crime Unit, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner. Throughout the process, police have worked cooperatively with school officials.

As a result, a youth has been charged with the following offences:

• Criminal harassment

• Indignity to a dead body

• Indecent communication – two counts

The identities of all individuals involved are protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. No further information will be released out of respect for the privacy of the family.
